Building Holiday Joy and Community Trust at Shop with a Cop

On December 6, THE FUND for West Palm Beach Police, in partnership with the West Palm Beach Police Department, once again helped brighten the holidays for local families through its annual Shop with a Cop program. The event welcomed more than one hundred children for a morning of shopping, smiles, and connection with West Palm Beach Police officers.

Approximately twenty-five officers participated, each paired with a child selected based on need. Many of the officers were matched with families who live in the neighborhoods they patrol, helping build trust, familiarity, and stronger bonds within the community.
Families were also treated to a visit from Santa, complimentary photos, and a $150 Publix gift card to help prepare a special holiday meal.

Beyond the joy and excitement, Shop with a Cop reflects THE FUND’s mission to foster positive police-community relationships and ensure every child feels supported during the holiday season. Shop with a Cop is one of many community programs designed to bridge gaps in neighborhoods where mistrust can impact crime reporting. Together, we’re creating stronger, safer communities, one meaningful connection at a time.
