THE FUND for the West Palm Beach PoliceNames Julia Murphy Executive Director

A new chapter of leadership begins as the organization looks to expand its reach and strengthen its membership

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Monday, November 2, 2026) – THE FUND for the West Palm Beach Police has appointed Julia Murphy as its new Executive Director. A respected leader in Palm Beach County’s nonprofit, business, and civic communities, Murphy brings nearly two decades of experience and a record of generating millions of dollars in philanthropic revenue. She will lead THE FUND’s strategic direction, operations, membership development, and fundraising, working alongside CEO and President Bill Bone, Board Chair Allan Adelson, Vice Chair Robert Garvy, and the Board of Directors.

“Julia represents the caliber of leadership we envision for THE FUND’s future,” said Bone. “She brings the strategic vision, executive experience, and proven
ability to inspire philanthropic investment that will take our organization to the next level. Our Board and members have built an extraordinary foundation, and Julia is the right leader to expand that legacy, engage a new generation of supporters, and strengthen our impact across West Palm Beach.”

Murphy joins THE FUND after four years as Chief Advancement Officer of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County, where she served on the executive leadership team and helped guide significant organizational and philanthropic growth. There, she directed multimillion-dollar fundraising operations, major gifts, corporate and foundation partnerships, signature events, marketing, and communications. She previously spent more than a decade with Compass Community Center, rising to Chief Development Officer.

Her leadership extends across the county’s business and civic community, with roles at the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of the Palm Beaches, and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County. She is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County, Leadership West Palm Beach, and Leadership Boca. In 2026, she received the Emerging Leader recognition at the Cynthia Allen Gracey Women in Leadership Awards, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce President’s Award, and The Bold Foundation Trailblazer Award.

Her appointment comes as West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County’s fastest-growing large city, continues to attract new businesses, residents, and significant private investment. That momentum underscores the importance of supporting the public safety infrastructure and community partnerships that help a city thrive. THE FUND provides a vital link between private philanthropy and the West Palm Beach Police Department, investing in resources and programs that go beyond traditional public funding. Each year, its members contribute more than $1 million toward educational scholarships for officers’ children, emergency assistance for police families, recruitment support, and community engagement initiatives such as Shop with a Cop and Cops & Scholars.

For Murphy, the role is personal. She and her husband grew up in the area and are now raising their two daughters in the community.

“West Palm Beach is home, and I believe deeply in investing in the community where we live, work, and raise our families,” said Murphy. “As our city grows, so does our responsibility to support the people who serve it. THE FUND brings the community together to provide meaningful resources for our officers and their families while strengthening the connections that make our neighborhoods safer and stronger. Bill, our Board, and our members have built a remarkable foundation. My vision is to honor that legacy while expanding our membership, developing lasting partnerships, and creating new opportunities for the community to invest in THE FUND’s future and the people it serves.” Murphy’s appointment signals a renewed focus on building THE FUND’s capacity, engaging the next generation of supporters, and ensuring its mission evolves alongside the city it serves.
